Creativity Circles

In addition to offering a wide-range of workshops, Purple Crayon offers a number of creativity circles where members with shared interests can play together. There's no need to register; just stop in! And, if you have an idea for a circle, tell us about it, and we'll consider adding it to the list! Check our Calendar page for the complete schedule, including cancellations.

The Creative Cluster

Date: 2nd Tuesday of Month

Time: 10:00 AM-11:00 AM

Cost: Free

In this Creativity Circle, we gather to sustain our creative process. In her classic book, The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron wrote of the sacred circle that must exist where creativity flourishes: “Success occurs in clusters…[creating] a sphere of safety and a center of attraction for our good…As creative people, we are meant to encourage one another." The purpose of this Circle is to support our creative goals and offer mutual encouragement to move through the challenges, blocks, and dry spells that we all can face. All members are welcome. For more information, please contact Joyce Shelleman at

Quilting Circle

Date: Thursdays

Time: 1:00 PM-3:00 PM

Participants in this Creativity Circle work on their own projects in the company of other quilters. Projects run the gamut, from machine piecing to hand applique to everything in-between! While this is not a workshop per se, most of our members are happy to help less experienced quilters if they get in a BIND! For more information, please contact Pam Robbins at

Time: 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
